15 months old!

For those of you who remember, Xander was quite the little bean when he was born.  A little over 7 pounds and a litlte under 19 inches long.  This added up to him being smack dab in the middle of the 25th percentile for height and weight (and head circumference for anyone who pays attention to that sort of thing!). 

Yesterday, Xander had his 15 month Wellness Check.  And let me tell you...he's a growing boy!!  Not only is he heavier (obviously), but he's quite taller now too!  Xander weighed in at 27 pounds and measured at 32 inches tall!!  This puts him in the 80th percentile for height and weight!! :)  We're so proud of our healthy little boy. :)  He's starting to catch up with the rest of the pack, and probably even passing a few.  His doctor was very happy with his progress and his percentages.  He thought Xander was right where he should be.  Xander always has good Wellness Checks, but it's good to hear the doctor confirm what we already know.  And it's reassuring to know that he's growing well.  There's nothing wrong with being a little guy, but it had originally surprised Justin & I. 

He's a good eater, most of the time.  There are days where he's picky, even with things we know he loves.  And I don't dare put applesauce in front of him until he's mostly finished eating his other food.  He loves yogurt and milk, bread, turkey and chicken, cooked carrots, potatos, smashed peas, tomatos, pickles (this one surprises me!), bananas, shredded wheat, Cheerios, oatmeal, unsweetened iced tea, the list could go on forever. :)

He run-walks everywhere he can...he hasn't actually figured out the running, but it's not too far away.  He always seems to have some sort of bump or bruise, but he's little and wobbly and falls down a lot.  He loves climbing into chairs, onto the couches, anything really - we have to keep a careful eye on the little bugger!  Any time he can be outside, he wants to spend the entire day out there.  Walking through the grass, exploring plants and flowers, watching birds and squirrels, playing with the dogs...he wants to do it all.  We're glad he enjoys the time outside.

He keeps us pretty entertained most of the time.  He's funny and chatty, an adventurer and daredevil.  I think he's a bit of a flirt with any girls he runs into.  He'll act shy, but then he bats those long eyelashed, stares at them with his big blue eyes, and then eventually, will crack a smile! :)

As I mentioned previously - he's finally learned how to master drinking from a straw - even though Mom, Dad or whoever he's with has to hold the cup.

We can't believe how big he's gotten and how much he can do - he learns so fast!  He's bound to have a fun summer spending days with Daddy, Mommy, Grandma Connie, Grandma Linda and Grandpa Carl, Aunt Carissa, Uncle Aaron, Grandpa Peter and anyone else who happens across his path!
